Steps to apply for Curie High School's IB program

The IB program technically starts junior and senior year of highschool. Incoming freshmen must apply for the IB program and if accepted must participate in the pre-IB program. The pre-IB program is taken during freshmen and sophomore year. It is designed to prepare students for the IB diploma program (starting junior year). Student's success in the Pre-IB program will determine their status in the IB program for their junior and senior year.

Pre-IB is open to freshmen who meet the following criteria:
  • Stanine of 7 (70th percentile) or above on standardized achievement tests in reading and math.
  • Above-average academic permormances in all major subjects
  • Excellent attendance
  • Two reccomendations from teachers and Principal
  • Completion of Written application
  • A student-parent interview

If you meet all of the requirements and would like to apply for the IB program at Curie you must fill out a Curie application (there will be a section to choose the IB program) and submit it by the deadline.
