This page talks about good note taking!

Note Taking Techniques

The most comprehensive note-taking systems require attention on your part. You must be alert enough in class to take legible and meaningful notes. You can't rely on "writing everything down" because alot of information in a given class/ lecture wont help you actually learn the material. If you have problems determing the specific relevant points in a particular class, you can always ask the teacher to clarify for you. Never be ashamed to ask questions!

Cornell Style Notes

Cornell style notes are a simple and practical way of taking notes in class that has been quite effective for me throughout my IB experience.

  • Divide a piece of paper in two sections
  • In the left section write down a question and/or a main point/concept
  • In the right section answer the question and/or describe the main point/concept.

What ever your style always remember to take notes! Stay on top of your readings! and always be alert in class!
