Useful tips to keep you going strong!

Sleep

Sleep is not an option--it's a need!

  • Teenagers need a minimum of 9 hours of sleep. The average teen only gets about 6 to 7 hours of sleep. NOT GOOD!

If you manage your time wisely (see above) you should be able to get the right amount of sleep that you need. Here are some tips for a good nights rest.

  • Get at least 8 hours of sleep each night.
  • Follow  a routine: go to sleep at the same time each night and wake up at the same time each morning.
  • Dont eat big/heavy meals right before bed time. If you're hungry, have a quick night time snack!
  • If you can't fall asleep after 20 minutes, get up and do something boring until you feel sleepy.
  • Do something relaxing before you go to bed. Dont go straight from homework and then try to sleep (this might give you difficulty trying to fall asleep because you brain is stimulated still).

No sleeping at school!!!
